Descriptif de la mission
Il/elle a pour mission de participer aux programmes de recherche et de santé publique sur les virus considérés comme prioritaires au Laos et dans la région, particulièrement, dans le contexte actuel, le SARS-CoV-2 (diagnostic par PCR et séquençage) et les arbovirus.
Il/elle participe à des programmes relatifs à l’étude des cycles des viroses au Laos, le développement de méthodes de diagnostic et d’identification des virus. Il/elle participe au développement d’une activité d’expertise dans le domaine des maladies virales, s’appuyant autant que possible sur des approches « One Health ».
En fonction de son expérience Il/elle aura également le titre et la responsabilité de « biosafety/biosecurity officer » de l’Institut Pasteur du Laos.
En tant qu’acteur de la diplomatie scientifique et d’influence de la France en Asie du sud-est, l’ETI participera à la promotion de l’image de la France en tant que puissance scientifique et académique dans son périmètre d’expertise. Le candidat s’efforcera de renforcer les collaborations entre l’IPL et les partenaires de la France dans l’indopacifique, au premier rang desquels le Japon, via le Bureau Japon de l’Institut Pasteur (IPJO) à Tokyo. Dans la mise en œuvre de ses missions, le/la titulaire assurera une bonne articulation entre les orientations scientifiques de la structure d’accueil et les priorités stratégiques du Ministère des Affaires étrangères, représenté par l’Ambassade de France au Laos.
Principales tâches et résultats attendus
Au sein d’une unité composée pour le moment d’une chercheuse laotienne, une chercheuse junior et 4 techniciennes de laboratoire, il/elle participera à/au :
- La formation des jeunes chercheurs et techniciens, y compris sous l’angle de l’éthique et de l’intégrité scientifiques promues par la France.
- La collaboration avec les autres équipes de l’Institut et d’autres centres de recherche au Laos ou dans la région (IRD, ANRS), ainsi qu’avec les équipes des autres structures membres du Pasteur Network, notamment l’IP Cambodge et l’IPJO au Japon. .
- Les Programmes de recherches en respectant les budgets alloués par les bailleurs, le « reporting » sur ces programmes ainsi que leurs délais.
- La formulation d’expertise aux autorités de santé locales et régionales (ministère de la santé ; OMS…).
- La démarche qualité de l’institut et aux aspects relatifs à la sureté et sécurité biologiques.
- La publication dans des revues scientifiques et médicales internationales le cas échéant, ainsi que la participation à des congrès internationaux, permettant de valoriser l’expertise développée
Moyens matériels et humains mis à la disposition de l’expert(e)
Les moyens matériels pour conduire les activités de virologie médicale diagnostic (Covid-19 et Arbovirose) sont assurés par la communauté des donateurs au Laos. L’expert participera avec la Direction de l’IPL pour lever des fonds pour assurer les activités de diagnostic.
Deux techniciennes de laboratoire et une chercheuse junior seront mis à la disposition de l’Expert(e).
